Cameron Barnes did a whole house remodel for us, and we couldn’t be happier.
He has excellent hands-on skills. He laid hardwood floors, added and moved walls, installed new kitchen cabinets (here he saved us $500 on the installation cost from the cabinet-maker), painted, installed windows, tiled showers and floors, and plumbed the new sinks and fixtures. All the workmanship was excellent.
He also brought a creative eye to the job, making suggestions to improve what we’d suggested, such as adding tile accents to the bathrooms, a travertine backsplash, etc. And he was up for any unusual request we had, including building a beautiful frame-out for a stained glass window and a custom-made wrought iron/ wood banister.
All this, plus he consistently shows up, on time and cheerful, day after day. (And this is rare in construction!) His prices are reasonable and for this project he came in under budget and ahead of schedule. We’ve recommended him to all our friends and family. He’s a true craftsman who can combine expertise and creativity.

Cameron Barnes with Barnes Family Construction helped us by remodeling our entire front porch and back deck. Cameron is an incredibly skilled craftsman who has a keen eye for detail and all his work done with precision. This was evident because the front porch and our back deck turned out to be everything we had envisioned and more!
Cameron’s excellent work ethic was apparent right from the get go. He was completely thorough in explaining what each step would entail. He is a great communicator, which is key for a smooth construction job. We were always impressed how quickly he would return phone calls or text us back when we had questions. He made sure there were never any surprises and was upfront about everything when it came to costs, length of time, and options. His extensive knowledge in all areas of construction gave us peace of mind when making decisions. We valued all his helpful suggestions when we were unsure of certain materials, lighting, stonework, design, etc. He was patient with us when we would sometimes change our mind, for example when he built a sturdy platform to hold our new hot tub on the deck. Due to no fault of his own, we decided we wanted the hot tub higher so he rebuilt the platform to our liking and with a smile!
Cameron could see things we never would have noticed. For example, after he installed our new front door he constructed a door threshold. He wasn’t satisfied with the looks of it and reconstructed it to make it perfect free of charge. Also, when he installed our high end cable rail system on back deck. He knew he was working with the expensive materials that we decided on and there wasn’t a lot of room for error. It was an intricate process especially down the stairs where cable railing had to line up perfectly.
Cameron is so smart with the critical details of correct measuring. You could sure tell because it turned out awesome! Cameron wouldn’t dream of taking shortcuts on us or any customer, and we admire and appreciate that about him.
Cameron’s friendly demeanor is so genuine and we trust him completely. We gave him access to our security codes so he could come and go as needed if we weren’t home. We have two teenage daughters and it always made us feel better knowing he was there working on something when we couldn’t be home.
Cameron, not only helped us beautify the outside of our home but he helped us with multiple odd jobs on the inside. For example, he helped repair the work of a previous bad contractor. We had extensive internal water damage due to this other contractor not putting a plastic shield between the travertine of our new shower on second floor and the wood siding of our home. Water leaked warping the outside siding as well as all down through to living room ceiling. Cameron fixed that nightmare perfectly!

A friend of mine told me, her sister just had a gorgeous, large, deck and stairs built. She said it was somewhat unusual and the attention to detail, by the builder was exceptional.
I told her I was considering all new flooring, throughout my house and new kitchen appliances. I told her the thought was overwhelming. She said the company her sister used was very easy to work with and I should give him a call just to talk about what I was considering.
I did call. It was a good decision. Mr. Barnes was extremely helpful when explaining what all new floors would involve. When I told him I was unsure about picking out kitchen appliances, because my kitchen is so small. He volunteered, on his own time, to meet me at Home Depot to let me know what would work best in my kitchen.
When it was time to pick out flooring, he met my husband and I, so he could help us stay within our budget. He and his son are very easy going, and pleasant to have around. He is regular, on time and takes time in his work. You can tell he is particular when you see my beautiful floors.
When the job was done, my husband and I missed not having him around. He's just a good, honest family man. I wouldn't think of calling anybody else for any type of home improvement or repair!

Last year we hired Cameron to help us update our house with new hardwood floors, painting, building a new staircase, staining wood, and repairing our walls. He did such a wonderful and beautiful job!
He is highly skilled and offers creative ideas since he is knowledgeable of contemporary and traditional design. A true artist! He is also very detail oriented and cares about the finished product. Most importantly, he is an honest, nice guy that we trust very much!
